This is a great opportunity to join the Electronics Engineering organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract and play a major role in shaping its future. Our client in the defence and security sector is looking for a dedicated People Manager to lead their Engineering Project Management Group based in Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will be to:

  • Provide leadership and functional line management for the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) team, ensuring the delivery of critical defence equipment in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead and support the EPMs to deliver complex engineering solutions on time, on cost, and on quality.
  • Develop the team's capability, motivate, retain, and grow the team to meet the workload forecast and business delivery requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality development and performance evaluations to maximise the potential of team members for present and future projects.
  • Initiate and manage EPM development and generic delivery team improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

Our client is looking for leaders with:

  • Experience in leading teams and individuals.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and embedding strategic direction through clear vision and mission.
  • Ability to drive collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure delivery objectives are met.
  • Experience in various management tasks including recruitment, onboarding, performance, and development.
