Join Our Dynamic Team as a Development Project Manager!

Are you ready to lead and manage high-impact development projects? We are seeking a talented Development Project Manager to join our innovative team within the Watkin Jones Group Delivery function.

About the Role: As the Development Project Manager, you will spearhead the delivery of capital development schemes, both self-build and 3rd party projects. Your expertise will guide projects through the full lifecycle—from risk assessment and program management to cost control and design oversight. Reporting to the Development Project Director, you'll act as the crucial link between Investment & Development, the Watkin Jones Construction Team, third-party contractors, external consultants, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage development projects in alignment with the agreed RACI.
  • Oversee capital development schemes, ensuring project milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate activities and appointments of third-party consultants and contractors.
  • Present progress reports and challenge processes to ensure value for money.
  • Monitor the performance of professional teams and contractors.
  • Liaise with the team to prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and budget reports.
  • Administer building contracts and manage third-party responsibilities accurately and timely.

Core Objectives:

  • Ensure legal due diligence and compliance for all development projects.
  • Manage cost plans, procurement routes, and risk identification.
  • Prepare and maintain master programmes and project execution plans.
  • Chair project meetings, ensuring clear communication and effective reporting.
  • Monitor consultant and contractor performance, ensuring compliance and high standards.

  • Proven experience in project management within the construction or development sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Familiarity with RIBA Outline Plan of Work 2020 and other industry standards.
