Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer required for my client based in Maidenhead, who work within the sheet metal fabrication industry.
Their customers vary within the industry sectors of; sheet metal, electronics, medical, telecommunications, retail and vending.

Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Position Overview
- Programming: Develop customer's solid model files into flat blank DXF files for cutting, including any alterations required to aid manufacturing.
- Drawing Creation: Create folding, bushing, and welding drawings and jig designs from existing files to assist manufacturing.
- NPI Investigations: Conduct New Product Introduction (NPI) investigations, instruct and implement new manufacturing methods directly to router/works orders and advise operators on initial manufacturing techniques.
- Quoting: This is not a core duty; however, you will require the knowledge to be able to provide quotes when necessary to aid in the understanding of the NPI process and if commercial demand requires additional resources on quoting.
- Process Improvements: Review existing manufacturing processes and Implement improvements where necessary utilising planned vs actual data.
- Commercial Liaison: Working closely with the commercial department regarding
- any cost or pricing impacts from NPI's and process improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality of manufactured products.
Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Position Requirements
- Completed a technical (engineering-related) apprenticeship, engineering course or (Diploma/Degree) etc.
- Working in a technical 'hands-on' role would be preferable but not essential
- Proven experience in 3D solid modelling, or CAD software, particularly in sheet metal.
- Use of SolidEdge - but trained can be provided.
- Based within a commutable distance of Maidenhead.
- Full UK driving licence is preferred.
Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer Position Remuneration
- Salary - £25,000 to £35,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
- Monday to Friday - Working hours would be 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
- 21 days holiday package + the 8 bank holidays on top.
