Senior service engineer

Overview

Service, fault finding and small works of Fire and Security systems across London and the surrounding area. The role will require product knowledge of a range of Fire and Security systems and extinguishers would be a bonus.

  • Ensure that any company vehicle provided is maintained in good working order
  • Attend and contribute to regular engineers' meetings.
  • Maintain a high level of personal performance and attendance

  • Positive can-do attitude is essential as you need to be able to work under own initiative

Expected Deliverables

Engineering

  • Able to service and maintain F&S systems of various sizes and complexity.
  • Able to carry out system takeovers including completion of all documentation.
  • Ensure that the appropriate spares, consumables and test equipment required to complete assigned tasks are available on the company vehicle provided.
  • Accurate and efficient fault reporting
  • To be an active member of the on-call team
  • At the completion of each visit close or update the ***** system with the call status and relevant associated documents.
  • Working under own initiative
  • Providing Customer systems Training

Additional senior engineer responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for other engineers
  • Provide fault finding support to other engineers
  • Provide training for other engineers
  • Assisting team leader with auditing of engineers and subcontractors

Administration

  • Provide good quality written details of activities completed at customers' sites.
  • Report any site left non-operational following a site visit
  • Fully complete all paperwork/time sheets/electronic mail in a timely manner
  • Report near misses

Sales

  • Make recommendations for additions/replacements to improve customers' existing systems and feed this information back to the Company.
  • Provide accurate information to enable quotations to be prepared for the customer

Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by following

a. The Health & Safety at Work Act, along with all statutory health, safety and environmental regulations.

b. ***** Health & Safety policy and applying ****** policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and experience

Essential

Full Driving Licence

Working knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel.

Working knowledge of a variety of F&S systems.

  • ***** commonly use Advanced, SMS, Gent, Kentec, Galaxy, Pyronix, Texecom, AXIS, Hanwha, Hikvision, Honeywell Pro, Paxton, Genetec, Halo vape.

This role requires a sound understanding of Fire, CCTV, Access control, Intruder alarm. You will come across a vast range of systems new and old in addition to the systems detailed above as is the nature of this role.

Min 5 years experience working on F&S systems with a sound knowledge of current regulations

Desirable

CSCS/ECS, Asbestos Awareness, IPAF, First Aid

Location and travel requirements

  • **** Operate throughout the South and East of England. Engineers are provided with a vehicle of suitable size and fuel card.

Remuneration range and benefits available

Salary: £38-40,000 year. OTE 55K 40 hours a week.08:00-16:30

Occasional night work may be required notified in advance. Overtime available – opportunity to earn more if desired. Travel time paid after 30 min each way. 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Company Laptop . Company Phone Van + fuel card.
