Reed is currently working with a trauma informed school based in the North Cardiff, supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs. The school is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the KS3-KS4 provision. This role is a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students who need additional care and support. Day to day of the role:

  • Engage with students who have experienced challenging behaviour, mental health issues, and trauma, providing them with the necessary support.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a conducive learning environment.
  • Assist with academic tasks under the guidance of the classroom teacher to support students' learning.
  • Offer emotional support and be a consistent presence in the students' school life.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to plan and coordinate student activities.
  • Participate in professional development sessions to enhance your ability to support the students' needs.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding student information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling challenging behaviour and supporting children with special educational needs is highly valued.
  • A commitment to the welfare and education of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with staff at all levels.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
