House Manager

Tiger Private are in search of a House Manager to oversee the upkeep of a private residence in Surrey. The residence consists of a main house with an integral annexe. There are also outbuildings including garaging, barns and stables spread over 43 acres of land. The role includes (but is not limited to) supervising other employees (1 Housekeeper and 1 contractor) and working closely with the property owners. The House Manager requires to be friendly, industrious, flexible, and able to fulfil the multiple and varied activities associated with this work. This isn't the families main residence and they visit the property sporadically. They must be able to take the property owners intent and outline direction, turn it into a plan and be responsible for delivering it - including manual and physical labour when required. Being pro-active, loyal, honest and leading by example are key characteristics. The preference is that the candidate has a former SF Military and management background (SNCO or above). There are currently two guard dogs in training, so being comfortable around dogs is a must.

House Manager responsibilities:

  • Liaising regularly with the owners to discuss plans, events, and general estate requirements.
  • Security. To ensure that the estate is a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants. Ensuring all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures. Liaising with estate stakeholders and proactively reacting to incidents, ensuring colleagues are always fully briefed and supported.
  • Managing the daily operations of the property including staff schedules, upkeep, and bookings.
  • Supervising all ground and house staff and providing training (as appropriate), day-to-day feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Managing maintenance, repairs, and renovations to buildings and estate grounds.
  • Liaising with event planners, catering services, and clients to ensure that all functions run smoothly.
  • Managing all administrative tasks like submitting insurance claims, filing legal documents, and preparing invoices.
  • Preparing, presenting, and managing budgets.

Package:

Salary £60k per annum. This is a live in all-round year position within the integral annexe of the main house and can be either single or accompanied however does not include children. If accompanied there could be an additional role for the spouse/partner in a catering role, cook/cleaner -Terms & Conditions to be discussed during the interview process. Accommodation (including utility bills) is included. The owners are down to earth people and want to develop a long-term trusted relationship with the candidate from the outset.
