**Here's what you'll be doing

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c20,000 customers and approximately 200,000 meter points.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategy Manager to join our team based in Solihull with hybrid working. For this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the development of strategy for the Industrial & Commercial (I&C) business area to ensure it has a robust, compelling strategy and help to improve the quality of strategic decision making within I&C. You will also be responsible for contributing to the management of I&C Innovation activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake strategic analysis of our markets, adjacent markets, opportunities and investments.
  • Ensure that strategic thinking takes account of external realities, including both long term trends and emerging developments (customer, market, technology, policy, new business models).
  • Be a key contributor to Merger & Acquisition activity for I&C, from identification through to completion.
  • Work with I&C Senior Leadership Team members, and senior stakeholders from across the E.ON Group, as well as provide updates on I&C performance and plans to wider E.ON UK and the E.ON Group.
  • Communicate strategic recommendations, business plans and key issues in meetings and by writing and delivering presentations and reports.
  • Identify, share and manage strategic risks for the business.

**What we need from you

  • Experience of working in a strategy function, with transferrable skills including facilitation, writing presentations and reports and diagnosing problems.
  • Highly customer orientated, with sound commercial acumen and an innate drive for excellent performance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • The ability to understand complex subjects and communicate them effectively to all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to think creatively about problems and a desire to translate concepts into action.

It would be great if you had

  • Knowledge and an understanding of the commercial environment, regulatory framework and market context of the UK Energy Industry.
  • Expertise in the application of strategy tools and processes.
  • Experience of Merger & Acquisition and organic growth projects.
