Salary: up to £32,000 per annum doe plus bonus (circa 5%) and other excellent benefits

Job Type: Full-Time with hybrid working on offer 37.5 hour working week

About Our Client:

Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a well-known business in St Mellons who is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its team. My client is a forward-thinking organisation who is looking for a meticulous Accounts Assistant who has a real passion for numbers to join their team.

Main Purpose of the Job:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing reports and accounts, assisting with cashbooks, and managing bank payments. Your support will extend to various company accounting tasks, including billing, credit control, staff expenses, and pension scheme cashflow reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities will include -

  • Daily Cashbooks & Payments:

Accurately complete daily client cashbooks, manage cashflows and payments using Xero and HSBC.

  • Reporting:

Prepare pension scheme reports and accounts, resolving any issues ahead of audits and filing within deadlines.

  • Accounting Operations:

Conduct daily operations such as bank reconciliations, invoicing, billing analysis, processing supplier invoices and payments, and handling staff expenses.

  • Credit Control:

Maintain and enhance our credit control system, managing payment terms and addressing queries. Keep consultants informed of late payments and ensure follow-up actions are taken.

  • Management Reporting:

Produce and deliver utilisation and recovery statistics to management within required timeframes.

  • Client Representation:

Act as a representative of the Firm to clients, potential clients and auditors.

  • Compliance & Data Management:

Record and retain data in line with business procedures and data protection legislation, ensuring compliance at all times.

  • Continuous Learning:

Undertake required training to enhance personal knowledge and skills and pursue relevant qualifications.

What my client is looking for:

  • Qualifications:

Graduate with a degree in Accounting, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year of accounting experience. Progressing towards ACCA or ACA qualification or an exceptional AAT studier / Qualified.
