Operations Clerk

We are actively seeking an Operations Clerk to join our successful and vibrant team at Birmingham Airport. The job holder will be responsible for liaising directly with all internal departments to communicate any flight meal increases or changes, aircraft swaps, and more. The post holder will be responsible for receiving meal figures from airlines, checking updates, filing, entering information onto IT systems, and organizing any late meal increases as they come in. You will also ensure the provision of an accurate, consistent, and quality service to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve all meal figures received via telex and customer-specific systems for distribution to relevant internal departments.
  • Update and maintain meal figures in the CBase system, print & check ACOs against the system.
  • Enter aircraft changes/movement details into the CBase system, informing all internal departments and supervisors.
  • Follow up with all departments while liaising with dispatch to provide all relevant information.
  • Communicate via telephone, e-mail system, two-way radio system, and PA system with all internal departments and departmental managers to ensure on-time performance.
  • Complete all increase logs, strip sheets, a/c registration log, a/c change sheet, file telex communications, print documentation as required, create ACOs, check final figures, file ACOs for billing, and enter final figures onto the system for specific airlines.
  • Print CBase labels for all airlines.
  • Accurately complete all relevant documentation.
  • Report any accidents or incidents and ensure any corrective actions are taken.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies.
  • File documentation and perform other general filing, e-mailing, photocopying, and faxing tasks.
  • Liaise effectively with members of the Service Delivery team and other departments.
  • Allocate airline seats.
  • Note that your duties will include but are not limited to the above.

  • Excellent customer service skills - essential
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word - essential
  • Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills - essential
  • Able to solve problems and work within strict deadlines - essential
  • Good knowledge of the CBase system - desirable
  • Able to deliver and improve upon set targets

  • Self-disciplined, reliable, and accurate with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work as a team member and independently
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Shifts are on a rota basis and may include early starts and late finishes

Hours of Work:

  • You will be required to work 12-hour shifts on a 3-on 3-off rota basis and must be flexible to work between the hours of 05:00 - 00:00.

Pay Rate:

  • £12.97 per hour.
  • Upon completion of 12 weeks of work, you will be eligible to transfer onto a seasonal contract with the company directly.
