Publisher - Illustrated Non-Fiction

Posted by Redwood Publishing Recruitment.

Are you an experienced Publisher with a background in non-fiction, co-edition book publishing, looking for a fabulous new challenge? Redwood is excited to be working with an award-winning, London-based independent publisher of critically acclaimed beautifully illustrated non-fiction books, who are looking to recruit a talented Publisher to join their team. This role offers hybrid working - 2 days a week in the office and three days working from home.

The Publisher will be responsible for inspiring and leading the Creative team; conceiving and commissioning innovative, market-driven titles, negotiating author contracts; overseeing the integrity of presentations, and taking responsibility for managing the full cycle of live titles. Further responsibilities will include costing and scheduling a growing trade and co-edition publishing programme; managing and developing an in-house and freelance team, and delivering strategies for commercial growth. Our client works closely and collaboratively with international co-publishers, who share their passion for quality writing, intelligently designed and beautifully produced.

Who we are looking for:

The successful person will be a highly motivated individual, with an entrepreneurial approach, who is looking to be part of a growing organisation, and who is looking for greater responsibility and autonomy. You will have significant experience in non-fiction, co-edition illustrated book publishing, and great editorial skills. Keen commercial instincts are a must for this role, as are a deep understanding of the illustrated non-fiction market and the ability to identify promising authors and trends. You will have the ability to motivate and work closely with the in-house editorial team, a network of freelance editors and other external contributors. A passion for bringing illustrated non-fiction books to a global market through the full life cycle from commissioning to publication is essential.

If you are looking for a new Publisher role, where you can shape a list and be part of a successful, growing, friendly team, we would love to hear from you.
