We have a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator with a good understanding of pipe systems and their implementation to join a well established family run pump engineering company based in Heywood.

This Estimator role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm offering a salary of circa £40,000 per annum plus benefits!

Typical pipe systems include copper, stainless and multi-layer pipe systems (compression, press, end feed etc.), polyethylene pipe systems (Compression and electro fusion), waste and soil pipe/ fittings.

As Estimator, reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be working as part of a small team with the following responsibilities:

  • Initially concentrating on ordering and service scheduling including the organisation of service visits for the engineers which may include booking hotels
  • Over time you will help manage projects of various sizes from planning routine servicing to more complex works that require large quantities of materials ordering
  • Price up works and put together quotes for customers
  • Liaise with customers, follow up the quotation and answer any queries
  • Service management including some data entry to track works and re-schedule along with the overviewing of service documents that engineers complete so that repair works can be logged and subsequently quoted/ clients updated on status
  • Planning works, agreeing dates, access to site etc and brainstorming solutions to problems that customers have
  • Regularly react and source parts for emergency works
  • Coordinating hire equipment

We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as an Estimator, Field Engineer, or Technical Sales with good knowledge of pipe systems or plumbing equipment
  • Confident in producing quotes and converting these
  • Prior experience in ordering materials for varying sizes of projects
  • Good IT skills including some prior knowledge of using a CRM system ideally
  • Ability to work to targets and KPIs
