Job Title: Ward Catering Assistant
Trust: Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
Location: Southport & Formby District General Hospital, Town Lane, Southport, PR8 6PN
Shift Pattern: 8 Am to 4 Pm , 9 Am to 5 Pm
Pay: £11.45 per hour, plus enhanced rates for weekends and bank holidays
What you'll be responsible for:
- Undertake food service duties in the staff kitchen and visitor restaurant and all other retail outlets
- Assist in the patient and restaurant food production kitchen as directed by the management team (preparation, cooking and storing).
- Assist in the service of food items as required.
- Prepare the patient meal service area with the necessary service equipment, cutlery, crockery meal trays, food etc. Portioning, plating and service of Patients Meals.
- Ensure that all food is served is of a high standard, mindful of portion control, meal content, correct temperatures, and food presentation.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Experience in a catering or similar role
- Excellent customer service
- NHS experience - desirable but not essential
- Reliable and hard working
