Description
The In-House Legal Counsel will:
- Be responsible for overseeing commercial contracts and procurement across a range of sectors including construction, technology, and data.
- You'll autonomously manage high-value contracts (over £20m+), liaise with senior stakeholders across multiple functions, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
- Your role will involve drafting, negotiating, and providing strategic advice on commercial agreements that are crucial to the client's operations.
- Identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support the business in ensuring legal compliance in all its operations.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders on legal matters.
- Support the training of staff on legal aspects.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to legal matters.
Profile
The successful In-House Legal Counsel should be:
- A recognised Solicitor / Legal Executive.
- Strong background in procurement, data, construction, or technology.
- Proven track record of handling large-scale projects and high-value contracts.
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU legislation.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills.
- Ideally experienced in a similar role within the Transport & Distribution industry.
Job Offer

- Competitive salary between £75,000 - £85,000
