We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Officer to join the Human Resources Team to provide advice and high-level generalist HR support aligned to our People Strategy and to deliver excellent customer service across all HR functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a comprehensive HR service across the organisation, including recruitment, learning and development and employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment law and policy.
  • Maintain up-to-date, confidential employee records and support the development and implementation of a range of HR systems.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding by drafting role profiles, advertising vacancies, and supporting with selection and offer processes.

Job Description

  • Advise and coach managers on the implementation of people policies and procedures across the full employee lifecycle including absence management, performance management, flexible working, disciplinary, grievance and reward.
  • Provide administrative support for transactional people activities including processing forms, liaising with Payroll and drafting contracts, letters, and reports.
  • Create regular reports and support with producing people analytics including monthly KPIs and annual survey.
  • Arrange and attend meetings, hearings and appeals as required to support and advise managers on people matters.
  • Ensure continued employee compliance including right to work checks, DBS, and essential learning records.
  • Coordinate learning and development, including supporting managers to analyse training needs, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and arrange inductions for new starters.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. (E)
  • Minimum Level 3 CIPD qualified (Level 5 desirable) or equivalent experience. (E)

Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or equivalent HR position. (E)
  • Experience across a range of HR software and systems e.g. HRIS, LMS, ATS. (E).
  • Experience of ensuring compliance in a regulated environment. (D).
  • Record of developing and implementing improvements and change. (D).
  • Design and delivery of learning or training. (D).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good HR Systems knowledge. (E). (Access PeopleHR a particular advantage).
  • Knowledge of best practice HR policies and procedures. (E).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills. (E).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (E).
  • Understanding of current employment law and employee relations practices. (E).
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). (E).
  • Knowledge of the housing sector. (D).
  • Project management skills. (D).
