We are seeking a dedicated Class Teacher to join our dynamic team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Secondary School in the Gloucester area. This role is ideal for a compassionate educator who is committed to supporting students with additional emotional and behavioural needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all students with SEMH.
  • Create a supportive and understanding classroom environment that promotes learning and the well-being of each student.
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (e.g., behaviour management strategies, educational games, multimedia) to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assess and record students' progress, preparing reports and communicating with parents, carers, and other professionals as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, professionals, and staff within the school to develop curriculum and coordinate work.
  • Participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events.
  • Stay informed about the changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a SEMH setting or with students with additional behavioural needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the strategies needed to establish a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for pupils with SEMH.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
