IT Support Apprentice

Antalis are a leading distributor of business-to-business goods and services. This international serving company is looking to expand its IT Support team by bringing in an IT Support Apprentice, who will be getting exposure to a range of activities relating to business user support. This will generally include supporting laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, telephones and IT systems, requiring completing diagnostics, repairs, hardware and software installation and configuration, developing working practices and processes, supporting end user requests and working on business projects as required

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to all end users, creating and regularly reviewing standard operating procedures and support documentation
  • Creating, updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and articles for the IT department knowledge bank and user base
  • Reviewing and maintaining asset inventory, device deployment and compliance system, providing support to end-users for any related requests or incidents
  • Ensuring all tickets are triaged and updated, regular housekeeping of assets
  • Controlling safe disposal of IT equipment to comply with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations
  • Regular management of incidents and service requests on the company's incident management system, to ensure the service provided adheres to agreed company SLA's
  • Managing access management and IT security requests, configuring new equipment and installing approved software
  • Responding and resolving IT issues and supporting the use of computer equipment and systems by providing necessary advice (escalating where necessary)
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and resolving issues on laptops, desktops, printers and smart devices (tablets, mobiles and telephone equipment) and business applications

Desirable skills:

  • Some knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems
  • Some experience of troubleshooting/supporting technologies
  • Some knowledge of Active Directory services
  • Basic understanding of Office 365 services (Azure, Endpoint Management Security and mobility, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Basic understanding of Network Infrastructure
  • Organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and excellent telephone manner

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

40 hours per week, 8:30am - 5:30pm
