Purchase Ledger Assistant - part time

  • Salary: Up to £28,000pa
  • Location: Kings Hill
  • Job Type: Permanent and part-time (27.5 hours per week)
  • Working Arrangements: Office based

We are on the lookout for a superstar Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a dedicated finance team. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for finance, we want to hear from you.

Day to day of the role:

  • Assist the Finance Assistant with the approval and input of purchase invoices onto the system.
  • Take charge of setting up new suppliers and requesting supplier statements.
  • Manage the daily arrivals process efficiently.
  • Process monthly employee expenses and ensure timely credit control.
  • Produce and send out account statements weekly, chasing any company with debts over 30 days old to prevent outstanding amounts for longer than 60 days.
  • Provide cover and support to other members of the department as required.
  • Commit to self-development by communicating effectively with your line manager and adhering to company communication standards.
  • Assist the Finance Assistant with daily customer invoicing and process miscellaneous invoices and credit notes on a weekly basis.
  • Handle general office duties, including bi-weekly company shop, purchasing office sundries, stationery, and postage items.
  • Answer telephone calls, manage daily post collection, administer company group travel bookings, and assist with any office administration as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in finance software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work.
