An opportunity has arisen for a Cover Supervisor to work at Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school with over 200 staff and 1,800 students.

Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher and working closely with the Subject Teachers and Head of Departments, the successful candidate will be taking responsibility for the learning, behaviour and progress of classes during the absence of the subject teacher.
As Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising students during the short-term absence of a member of the teaching staff
- Taking an accurate register of students for each lesson
- Introducing the work set by the absent teacher of by the Head of Department and ensuring that it is completed in an acceptable environment
- Guiding and supporting the students during the completion of the work
- Liaising with teachers before planned absences over work set
- Ensuring that appropriate student behaviour is maintained so that an environment conducive to learning is evident at all times
- Operating and enforcing school systems of behaviour
- Resolving students' problems with the work or direct to an appropriate member of staff
- Invigilating internal and external examinations as required
We're looking for a Cover Supervisor with the following:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Post 16 qualifications e.g. A Levels
- Previous experience working in a school, supporting students in small groups and in the classroom
- A general understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/techniques
In return you will receive a salary of £20,604 - £25,587 per annum.
You will be working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Monday-Friday, 08:30-15:30
