Job Overview:
The company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Director to lead its growth and client acquisition in the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will focus on identifying new business opportunities, fostering key relationships, and driving strategic partnerships to enhance the company's position in the inhaled and nasal drug delivery market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the CDMO or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven ability to drive business growth and close high-value deals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand the company's presence in the drug delivery devices market.
  • Identify and engage new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotech companies seeking inhalation drug delivery and combination product solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target companies.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage the onboarding process for new clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including R&D, operations, and manufacturing, to align business development efforts with the company's capabilities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify potential growth areas and new product offerings.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings, promoting its leadership in the drug delivery sector.
  • Prepare business proposals and manage client expectations to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Track sales performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress toward revenue goals.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and foster long-term business relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 yearsexperience in business development or commercial roles within the pharmaceutical or CDMO sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of drug delivery devices, particularly inhalation and nasal systems, as well as combination products.
  • Strong industry network and experience negotiating complex, high-value contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and market dynamics in the drug-device sector.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, business, or related fields. Advanced degrees (MBA, MSc, etc.) are preferred.
