- Salary: £16.70 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Role Overview:
As a Leading Cable Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Site Manager/Site Supervisor by leading and supervising cable installation teams. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safe and efficient performance of works on-site, installing, and commissioning various electrical HV projects. Please note that this role may require travel and overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise site cable installation teams.
- Coordinate with Site Manager and Project Engineer/Manager to plan and execute works.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are prepared and maintained in good condition.
- Complete SSSTS training and serve as the main contact for cabling installation.
- Assist with the installation of cabling, earthing, and testing.
- Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings for staff.
- Document site progress and report to Site Manager and Project Manager.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage site pool vehicles and requisition materials as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in cable installation.
- Previous supervisory experience in complex electrical installations.
- Completed SSSTS training.
- 2-3 years' relevant experience in electrical engineering within contracting or utility industries.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in the high voltage sector.
