Inventory Manager

Our prestigious client is a UK owned and managed business with 80 years of product history. They produce goods principally for the UK Retail markets. This multimillion-pound business continues to grow and has built up an enviable reputation for delivering a high-quality service to a broad spectrum of customers.

They are looking for a highly experienced Inventory Manager who will play a key role in the business, reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this is an office based role and brings with it a high level of responsibility.

As the Inventory Manager your main duties will be:

  • Monitoring and tracking inventory levels of finished goods/chemicals/packaging and shipping materials

This involves regularly tracking inventory movements and ensuring accurate record keeping

  • Analysing inventory data to identify trends, optimise stock levels and improve inventory management processes
  • Prepare and generate reports on stock levels, stock movements, slow moving and other relevant inventory data for management review
  • Implement inventory control procedures to establish and enforce such procedures to minimise stock shrinkage, improve accuracy and enhance overall efficiency
  • Managing and leading a team of inventory staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Responsibility for cyclical PI checks in all locations. The stock control process and annual stock count
  • Manage the daily input of production into Sage and investigation of variances

Tasks you will manage:

  • Reconciliation between pallet transfers and Blackbird Framework
  • Reporting of stock adjustments with an explanation of the reasons
  • Ensure timely blending stock adjustments are processed
  • Full review of the process of amending stock and implement a streamline process - i.e. removing the laboratory step
  • Manage product issues in respective warehouses and liaise with QC on corrections
  • Ensure that transfer requests are actioned and recorded correctly
  • Manage the PI process, record and address anomalies with department managers
  • Ensure that the mixing of products across all locations are accurately recorded
  • Perform stock reviews from daily reports and address anomalies
  • Take responsibility for the stock take process
  • Identify and communicate slow moving stock, monthly, bi-monthly to the senior team

Experience required for the role:

  • Extensive Inventory Management experience at a senior level
  • You will be highly efficient and detail orientated
  • An Excel Super User and be able to masterfully manipulate, reconcile and present data to the FD
  • You will have specific stock control and stock inventory management experience
  • You must be of an inquisitive mind with the unwavering ability to challenge managers

This role is offered as a full-time, permanent role.

Hours of work are 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday), and the role is office based due to the nature of the requirement within a manufacturing environment.
