Our client are an award-winning leading IT company offering complete out-sourced IT solutions to organisations across the UK and Europe. Based in Milton Park, Oxford, we provide a comprehensive range of support services and software and hardware solutions to major blue-chip clients, and our technicians are highly skilled in planning, implementing, and troubleshooting.
Primary Purpose :
This role sits within the Project Delivery Team, but alongside scoping, developing, and implementing innovative solutions, you will actively manage and troubleshoot various technologies within an enterprise environment. Additionally, you will be an escalation point for the team's third-line engineer level; experience mentoring others would be highly desirable. Due to the extensive responsibilities of the team, a broad range of technological experience would be highly advantageous in this role.
- Investigate opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiencies for the client and share findings.
- Engage in Project Work involving new system implementation and changes driven by continuous improvement.
- Attend client and third-party technical meetings
- Resolve reported faults escalated by the Helpdesk team within defined service level agreements.
- Develop capacity guidelines and monitoring protocols for the infrastructure across the estate.
- Management of the Azure Infrastructure, which includes but is not limited to Virtualised Servers, Networks and Firewalls
- Security-focused and maintaining/improving security standards
- Capable escalation point for the helpdesk team
- HP Switch management
- Network Monitoring (Auvik)
- Management of Sophos Central Environment, AV, MDM and Firewalls
Required:
- Two years experience in a third-line role
- Comfortable with client communication at the senior level
- Experience in troubleshooting network and hardware issues and being confident as an escalation point.
- Previous experience with Azure and Firewalls (firmware updates, VPNs including client and site-to-site, DNS and DHCP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Cloud Solutions, including Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Administration and Management of Windows Server Infrastructure
- Active Directory administration and management, including group policy
- Knowledge of security best practices and hardening for Microsoft operating systems
- Participation in projects or transition environments
- WiFi Management (RADIUS - Desirable)
