SEN Teaching Assistant Needed in Central Southampton for September (Secondary School)

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic secondary school in central Southampton. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of secondary school students with special educational needs. Starting in September, you will work alongside an experienced team in an environment where every student is respected, listened to, and actively involved in their educational journey.

Position Details

  • Location: Central Southampton
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Type of Work: Supporting secondary school students with special educational needs
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Contract Type: Temp to Perm/Permanent
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, plus occasional parents' evenings

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting
  • Training: Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential

Eligibility

  • Right to Work: Must hold the right to work in the UK
  • DBS Certificate: Must hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • References: Provide two professional child-related references
