Freight Forwarder Required
Our client is a well-established international transport company specializing in logistics solutions for the events, sports, exhibitions, congresses, and country celebrations markets. To facilitate their expansion plans, they are looking to add to their operations team. You will be joining an existing team of four operators, and the successful candidate is expected to have a proven background in Freight Forwarding, Multi-Modal transport, and knowledge of special projects would be highly beneficial.
Freight Forwarder - Special Projects - Position Overview
- Assessing clients' needs and providing accurate information
- Identifying the most appropriate form of transit and mitigating potential risks
- Overseeing and assisting in the preparation and presentation of quotations for clients, recording information in the company databases, and following up to secure business
- Booking shipments with hauliers, ocean lines, and airlines
- Completing AWBs, bills of lading, customs entries, and preparing all other required documentation for export and re-import
- Liaising and updating clients, overseas agents, and suppliers as necessary
- Supervising and monitoring transit corridors with hauliers, ocean lines, airlines, and overseas partners
- Ensuring correct customs procedures are used
- Processing supplier invoices
- Supervising and assisting with cost accruals and shipment charging, including sending invoices and backup documentation to the relevant parties
Freight Forwarder - Special Projects - Position Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an operational environment (multi-modal experience is an asset). The role is export-biased.
- Satisfactory CRC check and satisfactory 5-year background checks, and eligibility to work in the UK
- Full, clean driving license
- Positive, 'can-do' attitude
- Ability to organize oneself and work independently
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Confident, open, clear, timely, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to gather information from various sources, challenge information, and apply decision-making to reach informed decisions
- Awareness of revenue, profit, and loss
Freight Forwarder - Special Projects - Position Remuneration
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on experience)
- Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (monitoring of shipments may sometimes be required out of hours)
- 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
