An exciting role as Automotive Manager in the Road transport division at DSV Road Ltd has become available at DSV Road Ltd, Purfleet.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager to join our team at DSV.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our Automotive contracts, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-level service to our customers from the Automotive industry.

We are looking for a dynamic results-oriented person, with clear focus on high job quality and excellent communication skills. Due to the high demands working with Automotive businesses the candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the General Manager, will be responsible for managing our highly skilled team of transport operators.

The applicant must have good financial awareness, organised and punctual, good knowledge of the road freight industry and preferably prior experience working with customers in the Automotive industry.

We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly skilled management team and play a large role in the continues development of customers in the Automotive vertical at DSV.

Main purpose of Job:

To successfully manage the Automotive department to a high-level whilst arranging high-volume of transport services for the automotive industry and ensuring quality in the daily work. Establish strong relationship with customers and haulage suppliers through daily communication and site visits. Monitor and optimise transportation costs while maintaining high-level quality service towards our customers.

Key Tasks:

  • Manage and coordinate automotive transport activities, including route planning, fleet management, and haulier management.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and optimize transportation costs while maintaining high service quality.
  • Implement and oversee safety procedures and policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with automotive clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Declare monthly financial results.
  • Analyse performance data and generate reports when needed.
  • Lead, motivate, and train your team to achieve set objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments across DSV.
  • Promote and maintain relationship with internal and external Partners, suppliers and clients to ensure a continual development of service and service levels.
  • Effectively Manage resources through assessment of workloads and delegation of tasks to meet deadlines and business objectives.
  • Ensure problems and or difficulties which arise are dealt with promptly and in a professional and business-like manner.
