An inclusive Oxfordshire Primary School in Wantage has opened its door for their newest 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a 2024 September. Could this be you?
Attending the Wantage school, there are KS1 and KS2 students with SEN/SEND needs. Since transitioning from alternative schools they need additional support to access the mainstream KS1/KS2 curriculum. You would be allocated to support the selected students on a 1:1 basis. You may have to use alternative educational tools such as emotional communication boards, visual aids and be able to utilise activities outside the classroom. These techniques are essential to engage ADHD, ASD and mute children to have the enthusiasm to learn.
1:1 Teaching Assistant
- Contract - 12 months. Contract to permanent roles considered*
- September 2024 start*
Requirements to join the Wantage Primary school:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help pupils succeed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or behavioural support (preferred).
- Must have a minimum of a C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
DBS is essential!
Degrees - Bsc Psychology, Criminology and Sociology qualifications are highly desired!
SENCO/SEND/SEN - experienced candidates WANTED.
