Accommodation & Support Matching Officer

We are seeking an Accommodation & Support Matching Officer to join a leading public sector team dedicated to assisting homeless individuals in Sheffield. This role is crucial in matching vulnerable people with appropriate emergency accommodation and requires a compassionate and proactive approach.
Day-to day of the role:
- Match homeless individuals with emergency accommodation options such as hotels, hostels, and supported accommodation.
- Engage empathetically with vulnerable clients, understanding their needs and circumstances.
- Maintain regular communication with accommodation providers to manage current placements effectively.
- Update and manage the system with accurate tenant details and placement dates.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Confidence in handling phone communications with vulnerable individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to manage challenging situations and difficult customers effectively.
