Maintenance Engineer

Key responsibilitiesas a Shift Engineer:

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to monitor and maintain systems and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. Minor items only, contractors will be called in when needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and schedule repairs without disrupting guest services.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies and tools.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance operations.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior engineering staff, promoting best practices in maintenance and safety requirements.

As a Shift Engineer, the essential skills required:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Technical proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, management, and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in engineering or maintenance fields.
