  • Salary: Up to £50,548 D.O.E +£2,500 probation bonus

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join one of our independent specialist school, catering to pupils aged 11 to 17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), along with other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. This role is based in Woking, Surrey, and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a therapeutic and child-centred educational environment.

Day-to-Day of the Role

  • Focus on understanding and supporting each child's individual needs, fostering professional, nurturing, and positive relationships.
  • Teach Maths and/or English up to GCSE level, tailoring approaches to suit individual learning requirements and maintaining high aspirations.
  • Plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students, catering to a range of abilities and interests.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviours with attention, appropriate communication, consistency, and flexibility.
  • Contribute to decision-making processes that influence school policies and student outcomes, and actively participate in developing both academic and extra-curricular programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary education.
  • Ability to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE level.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and SEND, with a capacity to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental approach.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, particularly in therapeutic and supportive strategies.
