The Company:
An award-winning Insurance Broker is looking for a Property Account Handler to join their team. The role will be to offer a comprehensive insurance service to existing and potential new clients.
The Role:
- Provide new business quotations on request, providing relevant advice, information and guidance.
- Take instructions from new clients, ensuring cover commences at the correct time, all relevant paperwork is completed, premium is collected and relevant records and diary entries are created.
- Take instructions from existing clients in respect of alterations to current policies, ensuring insurers are notified and records updated.
- Working with the Account Executives to plan strategy i.e., renewal approach, identify cross sale opportunities.
- Negotiating with Underwriters to achieve optimal outcome for clients.
- Offer renewal of existing clients' policies with current insurer or move to a new insurer, as appropriate
- Check thoroughly all client documentation before despatch, ensuring queries are raised and amendments completed
- Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates
- Maintenance of up to date client records on the company electronic filing system
- Identify, plan and achieve cross sale opportunities, working with specialist areas within the group
- Support clients in the event of claims
- Provision of risk management advice and risk prevention information/requirements in conjunction with or adherence to Insurers
- Assist, when required, with the Accounts function of the business in carrying out credit control with relevant customers
- To accompany Account Executives on client visits when required to
The Candidate:
- A minimum of 2 years broking experience
- Knowledge of the following classes of insurance - Property, Package Policies
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritise your workload
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- Be a good team-player with a drive to succeed
- Negotiation skills
- Acts compliantly with a good understanding of regulatory requirements
- IT literate with client systems and Microsoft packages
- Ideally be qualified to Cert CII level or be prepared to attain this with support from the business
