Interim Licensing Officer

Robertson Bell are working with a local authority to recruit an Interim Licensing Officer for a 6–12 month contract. The position is part time (circa 23 hours per week) and offers flexible working however some travel will be a part of the role. The main responsibilities of the Interim Licensing Officer are:

  • Ensure venues and organisations are compliant with their licensing requirements.
  • Complete initial site visits for applications, renewals and surprise inspections.
  • Write reports for your individual caseload.

The role will involve travelling to different locations and venues in order to complete the role (mostly within a 30 minute drive), however the remainder of the contract can be based from home. The local authority are flexible on how someone works their part time hours, this could be three full days or splitting the hours over five days for example. The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced licensing officer within the local government sector.
  • Ideally have experience of licensing within animal or private hire (taxis) however this is not essential.
  • Be immediately available from early/mid-September.
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
