This is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract and based in our Newcastle office with regular attendance.

What will your typical day look like? Different that's for sure...

Technology is the beating heart of Atom. The Technology Delivery team creates new features that our customers love and automates internal processes, so our colleagues don't have to do things manually. The Delivery team is part of the wider technology organisation, drawing people with different skills together into cross-functional Agile teams to help make banking better for everyone. We also have project managers to oversee and drive projects where agile approaches are less suitable, such as regulatory changes.

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for working with the Atom Business and Technology Teams and key 3rd parties to shape and drive projects, ensuring delivery is achieved consistently on time, to scope and to budget. Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills are essential as well as the ability to drive through change to meet important outcomes for the bank.

What you'll be doing:

  • Shape and establish governance of projects. outlining clear roles, responsibilities and ownership.
  • Lead, create and baseline clear and concise detailed project/implementation plans with identified critical paths ensuring resource commitment is obtained from all impacted parties.
  • Project manage the delivery and implementation of the project across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Identification and management of project risks and dependencies.
  • Influence and gain commitment from stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
  • Robust, collaborative and motivational leader able to lead a cross functional team.
  • Strong presentation skills, and ability to produce clear project reporting.

What do we need from you?

  • Experience in managing successful large and complex projects in a regulated environment.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders and external parties.
  • Great leadership skills, someone who can motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Experience in both traditional and agile delivery methodologies, knowing when it's appropriate to apply different planning techniques.
  • Ability to create clear and concise delivery plans and reporting.
  • Experienced across both technology and business change.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders and external parties.
