Pertemps are recruiting a HR Assistant to join their client in Duns. The primary purpose of the role is to support a wide range of HR related activity to support the employee experience whilst ensuring compliance to employment legislation.

Responsibilities

:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR queries via face-to-face interactions, email, and telephone.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to assist managers with employee opportunities and concerns.
  • Oversee employee relations casework, including investigations and flexible working requests.
  • Manage sickness absences and handle all associated administrative tasks.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
  • Analyze HR processes to identify and implement improvements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly HR reports.
  • Assist the HR Advisor/HR Business Partner with various ad hoc projects.
  • Maintain data in SAP, draft letters, file documents, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Note: This list is not exhaustive and responsibilities may evolve in line with the role.

About You

:

  • Essential: Previous HR experience with a solid understanding of employment legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in IT, including SAP and Microsoft Office, with a good grasp of HR systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Commercially and customer-aware, with a strong focus on quality.
  • Capable of handling confidential and sensitive information with respect.
  • HR qualification is desirable but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • Positive and proactive "can-do" attitude.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Skilled in managing change.
