At TAD Electronics Ltd we're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join the team in Pershore. You will have involvement in all aspects of product development, from design and specification, through to test and production documentation.
We are more interested in ability and experience than academic qualifications and are looking for someone with extensive experience who is looking for a new challenge and is keen to add their experience and knowledge to our own. In return, you will receive a salary of up to £55,000 per annum, one day per week of home working after 6-months, access to private medical insurance, the opportunity to learn new skills to advance your electronics knowledge and access to our prototyping facilities to pursue personal projects.
As an Embedded Software Engineer at TAD Electronics, your responsibilities will be very varied and will likely include many of the following:
- Writing software for new and existing products.
- Writing specifications for new projects and products.
- Meeting customers to discuss projects as when required.
- Assisting with production failures and debugging new and existing software and hardware.
- Designing enclosures and prototyping them with the 3d printing facilities.
- Designing PCBs and prototype manufacture of them by hand placing components.
- Investigation of returned items and repairing them.
At TAD Electronics, we're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with:
- Knowledge and experience of programming in C ideally in MPLAB X IDE.
- Experience developing for embedded systems.
- Understanding of low-level software for 8-bit microcontrollers.
- Basic knowledge of digital electronics.
- High level design and system documentation.
Beneficial Skills would also include:
- Knowledge and experience of PCB design and layout with Eagle or otherwise.
- Understanding of digital and analogue circuit design.
- A good foundation in engineering as a whole.
This is a full-time permanent position. The office hours are between 08:00-17:00 to allow some flexibility, with a half hour break for lunch (37½ hours per week). You will receive 28 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays.
