Are you looking for a challenging role?

Are you nurturing and a gentle Teaching assistant to support 1:1?

I am recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 child who experiences low attainment and finds it challenging to settle into Key Stage 2. Your role will be pivotal in providing tailored support, ensuring the child feels safe, confident, and motivated to engage in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient, individual support to help the child access the curriculum at their own pace.
  • Create a nurturing and calming environment that fosters emotional security.
  • Help the child develop routines and strategies to settle into school life and classroom expectations.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to plan and deliver targeted interventions.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child to encourage self-esteem and resilience.
  • Celebrate small steps of progress, promoting a love for learning.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A caring, nurturing, and empathetic nature.
  • Experience working with children who may have additional learning needs or low attainment.
  • Understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum and the ability to adapt learning activities to suit individual needs.
  • Patience, creativity, and flexibility in approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A supportive and inclusive school community.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on a child's learning journey.

If you have a passion for supporting children's education and want to help a child thrive both academically and emotionally, we encourage you to apply.
