Robertson Bell are partnering exclusively with this established and reputable public sector organisation as they go to market for a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis. Key responsibilities of this Finance Business Partner role include:

  • Manage the financial resources and performance of one-third of the organisation and associated subsidiaries, overseeing a portfolio worth approximately £350 million.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including directors and deputy directors, primarily focusing on finance-related queries and operations within the organisation.
  • Facilitate business partnering by organising group meetings, and driving improvements in the finance function, with an emphasis on enhancing financial literacy across the department.
  • Oversee the monthly management accounts cycle, including forecasting, budgeting, and preparing director packs.
  • Directly supervise a team comprising an Assistant Finance Business Partner and a Management Accountant, providing guidance and support to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

This opportunity is based in London and offers hybrid working, requiring an office presence of three days per week in the office. Other benefits include a competitive annual leave allowance that rises with service, an above market-rate government pension and other wellbeing perks.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully CCAB qualified Accountant or equivalent and have a thorough understanding of budgeting, forecasting and the production of management accounts.
  • Have extensive experience in a similar finance business partnering position, including involvement in strategic decision making and the creation of business cases in addition to providing support to the wider organisation.
  • Ideally, have some experience in implementing system or process improvements within a business partnering setting.
