Compliance Officer

We are working with a leading industrial services company who is looking for a Compliance Officer to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing their compliance frameworks and standards. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all business processes meet current legal and ethical standards, making this a vital position within our organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain an effective policy and procedures library that is accessible and understood by all employees.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create or amend processes, documentation, and forms as dictated by business needs and legislation.
  • Manage the process of obtaining new accreditations, certifications, and industry schemes.
  • Conduct comprehensive system audits on all aspects of business processes, and accredited and certified standards.
  • Identify, research, and propose solutions to business weaknesses, or opportunities for improvement through the auditing process.
  • Work with externally sourced expertise where necessary to achieve compliance goals.
  • Assist the QC Manager and Technical Manager in resolving technical non-conformities as needed.
  • Align closely with the bids and tenders team to improve our responses by assessing and implementing feedback about our policies and processes.
  • Manage and keep up-to-date our supplier assessment forms and associated information.
  • Be responsible for completing and updating our own applications to become suppliers or subcontractors, including assessment schemes.
  • Administer company insurance applications and claims, working closely with the directors and senior management teams.
  • Assist the directors in their responsibilities for ensuring the company meets its legal and ethical requirements.
  • Embrace technology as a means of improving operational efficiency and quality.
  • Deliver training to individuals or departments as necessary in support of the above.
  • Prepare monthly reports on compliance-related information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a compliance role within an industrial or similar sector.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and audit procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using technology to improve work efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset.
