Business Development Manager

It's likely that you've not heard of this Sheffield based SME before, headed up by Rory .... but if you're looking for a technical sales / business development role within a close-knit, friendly team that always puts the customer first, this could be the role for you!

This is a new to Sheffield role, previously the team was supported by a remotely based sales / business development person.

The ideal person will be an expert in building relationships, enjoy technical sales and be independent in doing this once inducted and having absorbed all the required product knowledge. There's also an element of marketing in this role, so an understanding of the link between marketing and sales would be an advantage

Being based in the office (some hybrid working is available once inducted) it's important that this person values working in a team and working together to ensure the customer is having value added from the complete range of services and products provided.

Rory has a goal in mind for revenue for this year and what he is really looking for is someone that is motivated by achieving targets to come in and once inducted, present their plan of how they're going to achieve this, having analysed what's currently working, what has worked in the past and what the process will be now moving forwards.

HA Hosting so far has built their business through generating leads through networking, referrals and though existing customer relationships and it's expected that this will continue, along with daily outreach to their current prospect list.

Who are HA Hosting?

HA Hosting is the home of the Sheffield Data Centre, they work with local organisations to provide reliable hosting to help them grow. They're made up of a small team of 2 IT Engineers, an accounts person and the Managing Director, Rory. Rory is passionate about creating a relaxed working environment, where individuals feel comfortable to live and work, as long as there is progress towards the greater goals.

HA Hosting also has a sister company, Holbrook Telecom Limited, meaning across the two companies there are lots of different products and services that can meet customer's needs! From managed services to mobile phones there is plenty to become absorbed in.

A typical week could look like,

Monday

1. Attending the weekly team meeting, discussing any improvements and reporting back to the team what clients are wanting.

2. Setting up your week, looking at who from the list of 9000 prospects you will be contacting and looking through Pipedrive (CRM system), to determine who is due to be contacted in terms of managing their account.

3. Talking to the engineers, to receive any informal training on a new product or service they are working on.

Tuesday

1. Spending the morning getting through your prospecting list, completing sales and finding ways to upsell.

2. Getting in contact with HA Hosting's current customers to see if they need anything and everything is okay, maintaining the close relationships

3. Heading out to a local networking event in the afternoon, finding great connections from in the local community.

Wednesday

1. Focusing on HA Hosting's marketing, designing an email marketing campaign to target the prospect list

2. Preparing a sales report to present in the following weeks' team meeting

Thursday

1. Working with Rory to make improvements to client touch points, such as redesigning the website and product brochures

2. Having another prospecting session, adding new prospects to the list and coming up with new ways to contact them

Friday

1. Making sure all clients and engaged prospects have been contacted with any updates

2. Setting up sales meetings for the next week

3. Meeting with Rory to update each other on how your week has been

5 of the key products you'll be sharing with clients

1. VoIP 3CX PBX

2. Veeam Cloud Connect offsite backup storage, for Veeam users.

3. Managed Servers (dedicated servers with support, or managed infrastructure)

4. Backup and Disaster Recovery Services

5. Office 365 with desktop support and additional consultancy

The Ideal candidate will...

1. Be energetic and driven to help HA Hosting grow, working closely with and advising Rory

2. Have some sales / account management experience in either an IT background or in Telecomms

3. Be interested in technology and a quick learner, there's lots of products and services to get your head around!

HA Hosting also believes in flexible working, as long as the work is done and you are contactable for the majority of clients and prospects working hours, there is freedom with start and finish times. This role is office based, but after a settling in period hybrid working will become available.
