This role may suit someone from a retail or hospitality background, who wants to find more of a career within a highly-regarded professional services environment, with the potential to carve out a career within a new office-based sector. Alternatively, it might suit someone who has completed some legal studies and is looking for that first step into the sector.

Working for a charismatic and engaging leader within this team, there will be the opportunity to learn and develop your skills within the role, with in-house training provided. You may not need any prior experience of working within an office, but we are after someone who is highly-credible, who can adapt to a wide range of clients, showing at different times professionalism, empathy, compassion and even assertiveness. The firm has a very positive culture and is seen as one of THE law firms to work for in Exeter, as they support people through career pathways and offer progression.

Tasks will include:

  • Ensuring potential clients contacting the firm receive a ‘best in class' service
  • Efficiently identifying and understanding clients' needs, to be able to then transfer over to the legal teams
  • Operating as an effective front-of-house for the firm
  • Taking and handling new enquiries by telephone, website and email
  • Liaising with legal advisors in the allocation of new clients
  • Following-up new opportunities with a view to convert into new matters
  • Seek to identify and record reasons for winning and losing opportunities
  • General admin duties which will include recording enquiry information into the firm's IT system, whilst capturing the information accurately

Skills and experience required:

  • We are looking for someone with the BEST communication skills, being highly credible and professional
  • Good computer skills
  • A proactive and fast-paced approach
  • No prior office experience is required for this role, but it could be an advantage
