Service Team Manager

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, professional, and skilled third sector team manager with excellent people skills, and the proven ability to manage a diverse staff team in the development and delivery of core services.

Position: Team Manager

Location: Head office in Leatherhead, various locations in Surrey Downs, some home working.

Hours: 37 Hours per week, with occasional out of hours and weekend work

Salary: £33,949 per annum

Contract: Permanent.

The Role

The Team Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of the Community Connections Service across Surrey Downs and the smaller Financial Wellbeing Service within the Epsom and Ewell area.

This Community Connection service supports around 2500 people a year and has around 200 new referrals a quarter. As the Team Manager you will direct line manage 7 full-time staff and a team of part-time staff. You will also managed the Financial Wellbeing Support Service, which provides a combination of financial and benefits advice, while offering mental health support to improve wellbeing and independence.

The broad aim of Community Connections services is to work in partnership to expand opportunities for individuals with diagnosed as well as self-defined mental health needs to achieve their full potential.

Community Connections supports people with any mental health or emotional needs to stay well in their communities through social connections and networks. It also helps people return to their communities / transition back / live fulfilled lives and meet their own goals.

About You

The role requires strong staff and team performance management skills, a high level of project co-ordination, partnership working, data reporting and monitoring, and contract management. The role also requires someone with high levels of written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including with stakeholders and commissioners.

You will have experience of:

  • Project/Service Management within the third sector, or comparable services
  • Working in mental health, wellbeing, behaviour change work with adults
  • Managing a complex service(s) which involves multiple partners
  • Managing services with vulnerable people
  • Managing incidents, risk and/or safeguarding
  • Managing staff and volunteers effectively
  • Data analysis, monitoring, and reporting

About the Organisation

The charity is a mental health and emotional wellbeing charity, supporting Surrey residents since 1994 in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley.

Offering a variety of face-to-face and online services, available to adults (aged 16+) living in Surrey who would like to restore and/or maintain their mental and emotional wellbeing (no diagnosis needed). The services are free of charge, with no waiting list and no time limit.
