Functional Design Lead

Role Overview

We have an opportunity for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract for a Functional Design Lead to make significant improvements to our customer journeys and scheme solution capabilities to support and achieve Nest's business objectives.

In this leadership role you will be responsible for working with the service provider of our scheme administration service to ensure that the business service design, including the underpinning capabilities.

This role will be accountable for ensuring that the human centred design, including of the customer facing business services and the underpinning capabilities, meets the functional requirements set out in the contract and meet the needs of our customers.

To be successful in this positions you will have the following skills, competencies and experience:

  • Significant pensions experience, with a proven ability to tackle pensions-specific delivery issues, and make practical business recommendations
  • Ability to make holistic design decisions that weigh up competing demands and find innovative and pragmatic ways to solve design challenges eg balance risk, compliance, financial crime prevention drivers with those that deliver ease for Nest customers
  • Experience of driving quality business outcomes through an outsourced contract arrangement and influencing the service provider's design thinking
  • Experience of defining and delivering both practical and strategic solutions to significant business challenges

Directorate/Department Overview

Nest outsources the delivery of services to its customers and in 2023 signed a new contract for the provision of scheme administration services. A transformation programme (SETT) will be run over the next 2 years that will make significant improvements to customer journeys and the capabilities that underpin the scheme solution and are used by Nest in the future to support the achievement of our business objectives.

This role sits within the Service and Solution design team, which is responsible for working with TCS to ensure the business service design, including the underpinning capabilities, meets the functional requirements set out in the service contract.
