Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be qualified and have experience working in an accountancy practice. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The candidate will work closely and report to the Practice Manager, providing support when required.

You will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and have the responsibility of ensuring an effective and efficient service as well as satisfying the clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients to promptly address their accounting needs and queries.
  • Coordinate with other service providers within the DNS group to ensure client needs are met.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other professionals.
  • Online Bookkeeping portal training and support for clients
  • Prepare, submit and review statutory Financial Statements.
  • Prepare, submit and review Corporation Tax Computations and Returns.
  • Prepare, submit and review VAT returns.
  • Prepare and review bookkeeping including bank reconciliations, customer / supplier statement reconciliations and posting accounting adjustments.
  • Prepare, submit and review management accounts.
  • Coordinate Payroll/CIS with clients and service provider ensuring 100% accuracy every month.
  • Prepare, submit and review Personal Self-Assessment Tax Returns including reviews with clients.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior accountants and trainees.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ad-hoc works as directed by the Management

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in an accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP, Money Laundering and latest Legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation (Corporation tax, Personal tax, Capital Gains tax, VAT)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.
  • An excellent level of IT competence
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary:

- Circa. £35k to £37.5k
