This company are a globally recognised business, who specialise in the manufacture of specialist consumer, commercial and industrial products. They are in a continued period of expansion, where they are looking to move into new technologies and develop new and existing products.
This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and support on all matters relating to global product compliance, and will suit someone with previous experience working in Product Compliance for domestic & commercial appliances to international standards**.** You will work closely with product design & R&D teams to ensure products comply with global product standards, supporting a 'design for compliance' approach.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Approvals Engineer local to Chard, or someone who is looking to relocate to the beautiful Somerset area. With a relocation package on offer for this role, applicants from further afield in the UK will also be considered.
The Role:
- Working closely with external suppliers and testing organisations to coordinate and manage test programs
- To work with the R&D team during new product development to specify necessary standards and ensure that new products are suitable for approval
- Assist in the Management of the certification library of approved products
- Ensure all compliance risks/issues are communicated effectively and acted upon accordingly
- Assist in the development of training modules and delivering guidance to internal teams
The Candidate:
- HNC/HND level in a relevant Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline or have significant experience in a similar role.
- A good understanding of domestic/commercial product compliance to international standards including EN, IEC, UL/CSA, FCC.
- Experience of EMC testing (Emissions / Immunity) on domestic/commercial products.
- Experience of operating/working in an EMC SAC/FAC chamber.
- Experience in internal auditing and management (i.e. ISO 9001, 17025).
- The ability to interpret technical documentation and clearly communicate requirements.
- Previous experience within a product compliance/regulatory role.
- An understanding of Electrical/Electronic engineering fundamentals
