We are now looking for a Youth Participation and Outreach Lead to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As our Youth Participation and Outreach Lead, you will develop and deliver participation opportunities for young people to influence and shape our local Youth Service provision across Stroud and the Cotswolds.

Working closely with young people, partners, and stakeholders, you will lead the service, championing the voice of children and young people whilst ensuring their views, experiences, opinions, and interests are considered.

You will create and implement youth participation strategies, develop and manage programmes that engage young people in social action and decision-making and ensure their voices are heard in all aspects of service delivery.

Additionally, you will:

- Build strong relationships
- Identify service gaps and support the co-design of youth services that meet these
- Promote youth participation through various media channels
- Supervise young people at youth centres and other locations
- Manage case records using a management information system
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to build a comprehensive youth participation strategy
- Promote youth engagement activities and events
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and equality policies

About You

To be considered as our Youth Participation and Outreach Lead, you will need:

- Experience in face-to-face youth work in a variety of settings
- Experience leading participation using different tools techniques and approaches
- Experience facilitating inclusive engagement and group work activities
- Experience supporting young people's voices and influence in decisions that affect their lives, individually and in their communities
- Experience managing safe youth work practice
- An understanding of issues impacting young people's emotional health and welling
- Knowledge of the National Participation Standards and the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child)
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- A recognised qualification in Youth and Community Work at a minimum of Level 3

Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Please note, you must be prepared to work in the evenings and weekends and to take part in residential visits as required. You will also be required to travel between locations as appropriate.
