Our client is a growing nationwide business that is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their expanding finance team and help support the needs of the business.
This is a new position which has been created due to the growth of the company and would suit a part qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) studier who has experience of double entry bookkeeping and multiple entities.

Assistant Accountant - About The Role
Working within this growing SME you will report into the Head of Finance and Management Information, supporting and overseeing the wider finance team and ensuring that all team deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage, review and approve all team outputs including AP, AR, payroll, accruals, prepayments, intercompany and fixed assets cash postings
- Review and approve all journals and direct debits
- Prepare short term cash forecasts
- Review and approve all balance reconciliations and AP coding
- Support year-end financial audit
- Maintain reporting structures within ERP system
- Implement controls across the team, ensuring that outputs are accurate and on time
The successful Assistant Accountant will have/be:
- Part qualified studier (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Double entry experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Deadline focused
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
