About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Head of Media to join our committed team on a maternity cover basis, starting at the end of January 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate educator to lead our Media department, ensuring high-quality learning experiences and supporting students' creative development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Media Department: Oversee curriculum planning, teaching, and assessment to maintain high standards in media education.
  • Inspire and Engage Students: Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes students' engagement and achievement.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular projects and integrate media skills in wider learning.

  • Monitor Student Progress: Track, support, and assess students' progress to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Manage Resources and Budgets: Ensure efficient use of department resources and adherence to budgets.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role, with proven expertise in media studies or a related field.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role within a school setting is desirable.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong Organisational Skills: Efficient at managing departmental responsibilities, time, and resources.
