Horizon Teachers are currently working with a Primary School in Greenwich that are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in their Year 5 class that requires extra support to help keep them engaged within lessons.
The student is currently working at a lower level and has mild learning difficulties which can lead to challenging behaviours. The role is to start ASAP until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis.
As a Teaching Assistant you will need to help manage his behaviour and use your initiative to help best support him. You will need to be resilient and be able to quickly create a rapport with the child to help support him. This will be a very rewarding role for the right person and will pay up to £550 per week.
What the school are looking for in their Teaching Assistants:
- Experience supporting children within a Nursery or School setting.
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs is very desirable.
- Confident working 1:1 and within small groups of children
- Be able to assist the class teacher with classroom preparation
