Company Overview:

Position Overview:

A commercial and strategic leader with skills extending beyond the finance function, to be a leader within the business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to driving financial performance and process improvement. The key objective of the successful candidate is to help deliver an ambitious omni-channel growth plan, including substantial international growth, through e-commerce growth (own websites and online marketplaces) and B2B.

Responsibilities:

Drive cash management process, providing payment approvals and overseeing cashflow forecasts. Tracking cash flow and analysing the company's financial weaknesses and strengths, whilst proposing corrective actions.

Responsible for generation of Management/Board reports, providing accurate balance sheet and cash flow information with insightful and accurate narratives; and communicating insights clearly to the Board.

Ensure a robust financial control environment with strong internal controls documented in policies and procedures. Challenging existing ways of working and promoting continuous improvement of financial accounting and reporting systems and processes.

Lead the month-end close process and critical analysis of overheads and balance sheets.

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other services to ensure compliance with regulations. Overseeing US sales tax and EU VAT compliance.

Plan and lead the year-end statutory audit process.

Develop budgets in line with company requirements and establish departmental performance vs. budget.

Review and advise on future acquisitions and investments.

Establishing and maintaining good relationships with external partners, stakeholders and investors, providing recommendations as necessary.

Leading the senior team on long-term financial and business planning

Overseeing payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.

Improving the detail of, and enhancing the quality of management information and communicating insights clearly to the Board

Qualifications:

CIMA/ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified accountant.

Experience working with SMEs.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Demonstrable financial reporting and strategic planning abilities.

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Xero

Good time management and multitasking abilities.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with ERP
