Science teacher for secondary education

Are you able to conduct hands-on experiments and demonstrations to facilitate understanding of scientific concepts and principles?

Do you hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/PGCE for secondary or an equivalent teaching certification?

Can you participate in science clubs, competitions, and field trips to enhance student's interest and participation in science?

We are currently looking for a committed teacher to join our team in Preston to support KS3 and KS4 students. The daily compensation for this role varies between £155 and £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

Personal attributes:

  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
