Business Development Manager

Birch Faraday Capital is a boutique private equity fund and advisory firm established as a search fund; a form of entrepreneurial private equity focused on acquiring and growing outstanding lower mid-market businesses with a remarkable reputation for high quality service and product delivery. Our mission is to scale our existing portfolio companies through organic growth and M&A strategies, while expanding our portfolio through the purchase of private businesses typically valued between £4M and £20M.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to support the entire deal origination process and help expand our advisory services.

Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals who thrive on autonomy and seek to make a significant impact from day one. You will work in a professional startup atmosphere with a small, collegiate team, contributing to our growth as we evolve from a search fund to an entrepreneurial institutional investor.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Origination

  • Identify and source potential investment opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals
  • Develop detailed investment memos and recommendations for review by senior management.
  • Network with industry professionals, brokers, and other intermediaries to identify potential opportunities

Advisory - Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients and industry partners.
  • Identify new prospects and open commercial dialogue and business conversations.
  • Represent the business at industry events and trade shows.

Brand Management

  • Manage the company's brand presence, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance social media channels to engage with the target audience.
  • Host events to develop Birch Faraday's brand and cultivate relationships with potential and existing clients, investors, entrepreneurs, company owners, and service providers.

Marketing

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the business and attract new clients.
  • Prepare marketing materials and campaigns to highlight the company's services and achievements.
  • Monitor and analyse marketing performance to optimise strategies and achieve business goals.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in business development, deal origination, and marketing roles.
  • Strong understanding of private equity, investment strategies, and advisory services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate clients and industry professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and identify growth opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and digital marketing tools.
  • Experience in managing website content and social media platforms.
